In 2011 I was visiting the National Portrait Gallery's Heinz Archive on a search trip. While there I found in the Eworth boxes a photocopy of an image of a drawing attributed to Hans. This finding explores that drawing and offers conjecture on its nature and its possible connection to Andrea del Sarto or Federico Zuccaro. Readers should keep in mind that this is a finding--an exploration of the evidence--and is in no way my conclusive thoughts on this drawing. It is also worth pointing out that at my next visit to the Heinz archive the document was gone. This may be because it was lifted out of the archive; these things do sometimes due to theft or sometimes because another department pulls a box to review the files. It may also have disappeared because some nefarious person was trying to sell a drawing that they wanted to assert was by Eworth, and they were attempting to use the archival record to support their authorship claims. Sadly this also sometimes happens. I have visited the Eworth boxes a dozen times since 2011 and as of my last visit, there was still no mention of the drawing. The search for this drawing is on-going. - HW 13Feb2021
